Images and type for the 2019-2020 mainstage productions at the Belfry Theatre. Giving the scripts a close read, working through sketches and producing the final work is always an intense but gratifying process.
The Belfry in Victoria, B.C. produces contemporary theatre with an emphasis on Canadian work. Central to their artistic practice is the development of new work, from commissions and dramaturgy, to workshops, readings and productions.
I’ve had the privilege of being the theatre’s graphic designer and illustrator since 2015, producing posters and collateral print materials for events, publications and up to twelve productions per year.
Vancouver's public spaces – our plazas, squares, streets, laneways, pathways, and waterfront – are where public life happens. These spaces are where we connect with the city and with each other – it's where community is created.
The Places for People initiative seeks to catalogue these spaces, create dialogue with citizens around their relationships with the built environment and to form frameworks for the continued integration of public space in the city’s core over the next three decades.
Pop-up events featured an information kiosk, maps, custom modular furniture and participatory opportunities for residents to share their perspectives directly with the city’s planning department.
The program has also seen Vancouver's first Public Space and Public Life Study conducted with the support of Gehl, a global leader in people-centred urban design.
The program will run through June 2019, with future studies planned for Downtown Eastside neighbourhoods, including Gastown and Chinatown, False Creek Flats, and the communities south of False Creek.

How is our experience of time altered when our domestic landscape and site of employment overlap? Timepiece for Autonomous Worker uses the material language of traditional office signage to voice the quiet rhythms common to sole proprietors of any field.
Each of these eleven lamacoid fronted clocks will bring a delicate touch of the bureaucratic to the designated productivity zone of your dwelling.

Stawnichy’s is a family-owned Ukrainian food company with a proud Alberta heritage. Working with archival images from their half century history, I produced a series of illustrations and custom type samples for the butcher paper used to wrap products at their in-house deli.
My grandparents have been buying their Christmas ham from Stawnichy's for the past three decades — knowing this paper would be floating into their home each holiday made this a special process.

I spent April of 2016 getting to know the City of Calgary's water treatment system in nitty-gritty detail. Through on-site tours and consultation with civic officials and water management employees, I developed a low-relief design that reflects the purification of wastewater through the removal of oil, chemical, sediment and biological materials.
